Legacy interviews with the people who turned the mat into a way of life.

You don't rise by accident. You rise by decision. The Champions Code is a legacy-interview series — every guest a champion in their own right, every conversation proof that resilience isn't a mood, it's a discipline you build one roll, one loss, one comeback at a time.

Every episode is one champion's story. Each guest is someone who earned their place the hard way — on the mat, in business, in life.
These are long-form, sit-down conversations, not highlight reels. Denise asks the questions only a black belt would know to ask: what the loss taught you, what you did when nobody was watching, what you'd tell the version of you who almost quit.
It's a podcast for anyone who is building something — a body, a business, a family, a second chance — and needs proof that the people at the top went through the same fire.
Denise Gamonal is a 1st-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Master Diego Gamonal — her 1st-degree certificate signed by UFC World Champion and Brazilian Top Team co-founder Murilo Bustamante — and a Pan American Champion.
She came to this country as an immigrant with nothing. Years ago, fighting depression, she walked onto a jiu-jitsu mat, and it gave her her life back. She stayed. Today she is the owner of several businesses, including five Brazilian Top Team academies across San Antonio, Schertz, and Austin, and Runner's Relief, a product she manufactures.
She led record-setting women's self-defense training for the City of San Antonio, has trained San Antonio law enforcement for over a decade, and has been honored by the police academy for that service. She is a mother of two and the author of the children's book Bella & George: The Jiu Jitsu Journey.
The Champions Code is where she sits down with the people who taught her that resilience is a discipline — and the ones learning it now.

A black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu takes roughly a decade of showing up. No shortcuts, no purchase, no promotion for being liked. You earn it on the mat, from the people who came before you.
Denise earned hers under Master Diego Gamonal. Her 1st-degree certificate carries the signature of Murilo Bustamante — UFC World Champion and co-founder of Brazilian Top Team, the team that has produced world champions for three decades. The source, not a franchise photocopy.
That lineage is the standard behind every conversation on this show. When a guest sits across from Denise, they're talking to someone who paid the same price.

Before the mic, there was the mat — and the cameras. Denise has been featured on FOX San Antonio, WOAI, and TNT for her work with Brazilian Top Team and the San Antonio community. The Champions Code is the next chapter of that story, told in full.
